China's Largest Acquisition in Semiconductor Industry Settled: Acquisition of Nexperia by Wingtech Has been Approved

On June 5, Wingtech's purchase of Nexperia Semiconductor, lasting nearly a year, was approved by the China Securities Regulatory Commission. It is the largest acquisition in the semiconductor sector in China to date and the consolidation is a crucial step in the semiconductor industry.
Since its establishment in 2006, Wingtech has grown from a small mobile phone design company to the largest mobile phone ODM company in China. Mr. Xuezheng Zhang, the chairman of Wingtech, said Wingtech should not only be a large-scale company, but also provide value to its customers and the industry. After many years of growth, Chinese design houses are able to provide world-class design and delivery, but it's not feasible to merely follow without innovating. We should make our own innovations and system integration with a threshold as high as possible and to achieve that, we must solve the problems of China's mobile phone modularization. This is why we decided to enter the semiconductor industry without hesitation.
Last year, the total output of Nexperia is over 100 billion units, ranking the first in the world and serving 20,000 customers in various fields. The acquisition fills many gaps in China's high-end semiconductor chips and devices. Wingtech will become the only world-class IDM semiconductor company, the only automotive electronic semiconductor company and the largest analog circuit semiconductor company in China.
