In March 2015, the news announcing that ISSI was merged and acquired by China's SummitView Capital, Etown Capital and Hua Capital shocked the local industry. What's even more surprising was- even with the competing matching bids from Cypress Semiconductor, it was not able to defeat the consortium consisting of three PE firms from Mainland China. This transaction has been approved by CFIUS, and completed closing last December.
